While CMS does not reimburse nurse visits directly, many payers do. Utilizing nurse visits for simple
follow-ups on medical issues can clear up clinician schedules, allowing additional visits and faster
scheduling when patients call for acute concerns. In this session, we’ll discuss documentation
requirements for the clinician ordering the nurse visit as well as the nurse carrying out the simple
evaluation and management requested. We’ll also discuss services that may not be billable and how to
avoid overreporting.
