Oh baby! Obstetric coding simply cannot be covered in a single session! In the first installment of this 3-part subseries, we’ll dig in to the differences between supervision of a normal pregnancy, supervision of high risk pregnancies, and complications, as well as how to discuss this breakdown with clinicians for clarification. We’ll discuss how to capture a G2P0 patient in “first” or “other” pregnancies, when to allow a high-risk code with a complication, and UDS measures for early prenatal care. We will begin exploring guidelines for complications.
