Even after we remove most fractures and other traumas from the musculoskeletal “bucket” of diagnosis coding, this section of ICD-10-CM is massive. A review of anatomy and medical terminology is a must as we delve into Chapter 12. We’ll explore hierarchy rules, when to use multiple site options instead of reporting each location, pathologic fractures and connective tissue disorders.
