Modifiers have long been one of the toughest topics for coders to master. Even when CPT descriptions are understood, varying payer policies can create quite the struggle in consistent application practices. We’ll explore CPT and HCPCS modifiers including those with specific Medicare rules. Additional tools to help the coder understand whether modifiers are needed with code pairs will be shared.
